APPLICATIONS

Before applying it is vital that you look at our guild information, our raiding information and the notes listed below in order to make sure that you are interested and commited to joining the guild. There will be times throughout the application process where you may be asked questions from the different sections on the website.

  • You are only applying here to be a raiding member of the guild.  If your ambition is to become a friend of our guild, then you need a nomination from your inguild friend, who will argue your case for you and invite you if accepted.  Please do not post applications to become a guild friend, especially if you dont actually know anyone inguild, its not a short cut route to gear.
  • As a raiding member of the guild, you are expected to raid at least 2 of the 4 nights regularly.  Although we always want people to prioritize real life, we also want them to realize they have a  committment to the other members of the guild, and their inactivity detrimentally effects the fun and progress of the rest of the guild.  If you dont think you can make our raiding hours and cannot perform to the best of your ability week after week then this may not be the place for you.
  • You are expected to put in the time to improve yourself.  Occasionally we will ask members to collect gear or items to test if they can aid us in an encounter, such as frost resist gear in order to help an immortal run.  It is down to you to find the time to obtain them, if it is not reasonable to expect the guild bank to provide it.  If your not a team player, and willing to try things out, then you wont enjoy your time here, or win favorable viewing.
  • You are expected to be able to install and listen in on Ventrillo, we welcome all those that wish to speak and put their input in, but it is not a requirement if you dont want too, we do expect you to be able to hear us though, which also means you are expected to concentrate on the raid ahead and not watch the newest Scrubs, or you will become one.
  • You are expected to be able to learn and adapt, and have a good understanding of the fights.  In general we learn by experience, we dont expect you to sit down and watch videos of kills we are trying to "mimic", we dont expect you to trawl elitest jerks or whatnot forums for strategies.  What we do expect you to do, is come along to fights, see what is going on, and learn and remember.  If you feel something is bad or needs work on, then tell somebody or work to improve on it.

EXPECTATIONS

We expect the highest performance on our raids, all our members are very competitive, if you dont have the will or strive to be the best, then it may be worth further consideration as to whether or not you want to apply.  As an example of what we expect from you:

  • As a tank, you are expected to be able to tank single target or multiple mobs.  You should be able to out threat the DPS with only the marginal amount of time to begin building threat.  You should be aware of your surroundings, and be able to pick up multiple mobs as I pull them into the raid without warning, and I should be able to escape unharmed with just a fade.  All our current tanks are capable of doing this flawlessly.
  • As a DPS you are expected to be competitive on the DPS charts, without taking unnecessary risks.  As a general example, we have many DPS that are capable of breaking 5k DPS, without being on Thaddius.  Our weakest DPS are capable fo getting to 4.5k DPS on Patchwerk.  If after a few weeks and geared up to an equivalent level you dont beleive you are capable of reaching these levels, then dont waste our time.
  • As a healer you are expected to be able to be assigned to a target or group of people, and focus to keep them alive.  We do not look fondly on Glory Healers, if your target dies, we expect you to know why, and outside the targets own fault, make adjustments so it doesnt happen again.
  • It is down to each individual to be aware of their own performance, where their shortcomings are, and to take the initiative to improve on them.  You need to be able to talk to the other people in your class, try out and be open minded about different specs and setups, and check the logs of fights we make to see where your position is, and what you need to do to improve on it if possible.
  • We dont have a set out application form, because we dont treat this game as a job.  If you are applying, then you are offering your time to help us all achieve our goals in what is a team hobby. What we want to know is what your goals ingame are, what you hope to get from the guild, what you like/dislike about it (we are open to criticism, and every member is capable of changing things if they are willing to put in the effort to make it better), what you want to offer to the guild, and what your capable of as a player.  Tell us of your ingame experiennces, your best moments ingame, and what you think you are capable of doing, and we will be the judges of whether we can fit you in.
